100 BLACK MEN OF WESTERN PA

Instituted in 1987 as a charitable nonprofit 501( c )(3) organization (and United Way Agency Code 885156), 100 Black Men Of Western PA, Inc. (the “100”) is dedicated to improving the quality of life of the African American community and educational opportunities for at-risk African-American youth in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

The specific focus of the 100 Black Men of Western PA, Inc. is mentoring, and in this capacity we have successfully mentored over 850 students in the Greater Pittsburgh Area for more than twenty eight years.

Many Ways That You Can Make A Difference

The main focus of 100 Black Men of Western PA, Inc. is to provide mentoring to at risk African American youth from the greater Pittsburgh area. The 100 Black Men of Western PA, Inc. has been successful in changing the lives of many youths through the 100 Black Men Mentorship Program.

This mentoring program was established in 1991 and has mentored over 10,000 students with 90% of our students going on to post secondary institutions.

The specific focus of the 100 Black Men of Western PA, Inc. is mentoring, and in this capacity we have successfully mentored over 850 students in the Greater Pittsburgh Area for more than twenty eight years.

Mentoring Program

We focus on modeling and development of academic and critical thinking skills, tutoring, self-esteem, citizenship, and appropriate behavior.

TUTORING PROGRAM

Our tutoring program meets the needs of middle and high school students to help them thrive academically for lifelong success.

HEALTH PROGRAM

With non-profit groups, we provide education and promotion of preventative health strategies for prevailing diseases within our community.

FINANCIAL PROGRAM

This program has focused its efforts on teaching our youth to become “savers” not “consumers” and to be “wealth builders” not “debtors”.

TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

Our Infolink-100 Summer Computer Camp gives students an opportunity to learn software applications and more.

CULTURAL PROGRAM

With non-profit groups, we provide education and promotion of preventative health strategies for prevailing diseases within our community.
