Who Are Collegiate 100?
The Collegiate 100, a programmatic arm of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. (the 100) is a Chapter Network of a dedicated volunteer corps of college students. Collegiate 100 Chapters are established college and university campuses across America who shares common goals with the sponsoring 100 Black Men Chapter. These astute college students commit to volunteerism and improving the community through mentoring and being positive role models for young African American youth.
Mission & Vision
The mission is to support the sponsoring Chapters of 100 Black Men in their efforts to nurture and enhance the growth and development of young African American males.
The vision is to ensure the future of our 100 Black Men of America Chapters by developing a pipeline of exceptional young African American male leaders who are responsible and proactively serve their homes, schools and communities.
Values
The 100 Black Men of America, Inc. believes that it is important to aid in developing talented students as they pursue academic excellence, health and wellness, economic empowerment, and leadership. The 100 is nurturing competent young men and women to become the next generation of scholars, civic leaders, planners, artists, business leaders, and scientists. Members of Collegiate 100 gain a greater appreciation and value the mission and goals of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. Through this union, an alliance is formed with 100 Chapters who prepare male members of Collegiate 100 to become active members of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. upon graduation.
Collegiate 100 Programs
Collegiate 100 Chapters support the work of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. in cities across the United States. Programs vary based on the needs of the local community served by the 100 Black Men. Each Collegiate 100 Chapter, with the support of the sponsoring 100 Black Men Chapter, has sustained programs that deliver education, enrichment and empowerment to participating students. Membership Criteria
College students must meet the following mandatory criteria in order to be eligible for membership in a Collegiate 100 Chapter:
• Be enrolled as a current, full-time student in good standing at an accredited college or university
• Possess a cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on 4.0 scale)
• Submit a completed Application for Membership
• Submit two (2) letters of recommendation
• Commit to at least three (3) hours of community service per month
• Commit to mentoring African American youth
• Have a positive record of extracurricular activities and community involvement
• Have a positive record of engagement in campus organizations
